On this day, we successfully conducted a campaign for collecting food grains for the underprivileged. With the participation of 109 student volunteers and collection of grains totalling 270 KGs, the campaign was remarkably successful. A portion of the amassed grains was given away as gift packets to 30 children for their excellent performance in sports and the remaining amount was distributed among the labourers, workers employed in construction sites and other disadvantaged living in the Defence colony area. The children who volunteered for the campaign received their certificates of participation from Mr, Abhishek Dutt, the chief guest of the event.

On November 6, 2016, the Parvaah team visited Bapu Nagar in Jaipur and raised awareness on the harmful effects of plastic bags. We spoke to the residents and asked them to get rid of these bags and instead use our eco-friendly cloth bags. It was our children volunteers who took the lead, visited each and every house, and urged each household to buy at least 2-3 cloth bags.

Team Parvaah was the force behind Reverie, a “charity bake sale” event that was organized on 27th& 28th October at the Sarvodaya Enclave Central Park. The cakes and other eatables sold at the event were made by our children volunteers. Then with the aim of reducing the use of plastic bags, we used the money earned from the sale of the goodies to purchase cloth bags and these were distributed among the shopkeepers operating their stores in the neighbourhood.

A Parvaah team of 20-25 volunteers participated in the ”Dussehra Mela” held on 11th October at Sarvodaya Enclave, New Delhi. At the Parvaah stall, the response was stupendous, with a large number of visitors showing interest in our cause and placing orders in bulk. The “Mela” was organized by Sarvodaya Enclave Residents Welfare Association (SERWA).

A day after the food grains collection drive, Parvaah volunteers went to Gurgaon, Haryana and distributed food packets among the kids participating in the Bhagta Bharat race. The race was organized by Mr. Vivek Bhushan, one of the founding members of Bhagta Bharat.

August 7, 2016 was a special day for Parvaah. On this day, our volunteers carried out a food grains collection drive at Sarvodaya Enclave and Azad Apartments, in New Delhi. A total of 243 students conducted the campaign simultaneously in both these colonies. The drive was over in 3 hours and the collected grains were given away to the needy living in adjacent areas.

The Parvaah team enthusiastically took part in the “Ankur Rakhi Bazaar” held at Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, in New Delhi. The Parvaah stall at the event was a tremendous success and the money obtained from the sale of articles made by our women workers was reused in buying a new set of raw materials and increasing the number of products

On 10th June 2016, the young volunteers of Parvaah came together to organize a food grains collection campaign on at Sarvodaya Enclave, in New Delhi. A total of 103 school students participated in the drive and 250 KGs of food grains were collected. A certain portion of the amassed grains was distributed in the neighbouring Begumpur area/Blind school and the remaining amount was dispensed among the labourers, workers and other needy in Sarvodaya Enclave

Our volunteers organized a campaign on 22nd May to encourage food conservation and to raise awareness on the need to reduce food waste. The drive was held at Geetanjali Enclave and around 40-50 school students from nearby schools participated in the event.

On April 24, 2016, our team carried out a food grains collection campaign at Safdarjung Enclave in New Delhi. Over 150 volunteers participated in the drive and with active participation from the residents; it proved to be a success.

We participated at the ADA Exhibition held at Diggi Palace, in Jaipur on 12th&13th February. The awesome response that we received at the Parvaah stall motivated our women workers to increase their production range and it also encouraged us to continuously work towards the empowerment of underprivileged women.

January 2016 was a busy month for our team. After two back-to-back campaigns we participated in the Jaipur literature festival with the aim of spreading environmental awareness. During the five-day event, Team Parvaah not only spread awareness, but also collected a small donation. We got the opportunity to converse with personalities like Suhel Seth who not only appreciated our work but also motivated and inspired us to do more.

On 9th January, team Parvaah organized a painting competition at Lajpat Nagar, South Delhi where around 60-70 children from different strata of the society took part. The winners took home attractive prizes. The sheer enthusiasm with which the kids took part in the competition made our day.
