On 14th August 2025, Parvaah, a student-led NGO, organized a Uniform Distribution Drive under its flagship initiative Pathshala at MCD Primary School, Mansarovar Park, Shahdara. This drive included uniforms distribution along with shoes and basic stationary to 100 students who were in need to uniform and stationary to continue their education with pride.
During field visits to Mansarovar park, Parvaah’s ground team noticed a recurring challenge wherein many children lacked proper uniforms and shoes. Some wore incomplete uniforms, while others were forced to attend in home clothes. Most of these children come from the nearby Lal Bagh settlement, while others belong to families where parents work as daily wage laborers.
The school operates in two shifts—
In fact, the school in-charge shared a striking example—one child had been absent for 15 days simply because he did not have a uniform. To provide support to these students Paravaah planned a uniform distribution drive as a pilot project to attend to the requirement
The Initiative
After discussions with the Principal and teaching staff, Parvaah prepared a list of children in urgent need. Tokens were distributed, and on the day of the drive, each selected student received:
1 school uniform set (shirt + pant/skirt)
1 pair of shoes
A carry bag to keep them organized
To further support learning, Parvaah also provided essential stationery to the school, including:
150 notebooks
50 drawing books
100 pencils
100 sharpeners
100 scales
100 erasers
100 geometry pouches
This small step ensured that children who were previously hesitant or irregular in attending school now have one less barrier in their path to education. The drive not only provided uniforms but also restored dignity, confidence, and motivation among young learners.
Parvaah remains committed to empowering children through education and will continue to work on-ground to bridge gaps for those who need it most.
Parvaah has always believed that education is the strongest tool for empowerment. Through introduction of the Pathshala initiative, Parvaah is committed to supporting underprivileged children by addressing barriers that keep them away from school.
