Women’s Health & Hygiene Camp
4th October 2025

Under one roof, women give endlessly to everyone else,
while their own pain is dismissed as routine or sacrifice.
In underprivileged homes, women’s health is the first to be ignored.

This reality came into focus when Parvaah volunteer Ankit visited the Daya Basti colony. Witnessing the challenges faced by women, particularly related to health and hygiene, laid the foundation for Parvaah’s initiative in the area.

Recognizing the need, Parvaah, with the support of the local Pradhan and its student volunteers team, organized a medical camp in the area. Prior to the event, volunteers conducted an awareness drive across the basti to encourage participation.

The camp featured three medical specialists—a gynecologist, a dentist, and a dietician—who provided consultations and guidance to the community. Around 600 people participated in the medical camp.

To strengthen the focus on women’s health, Parvaah distributed approximately 2,000 sanitary pads. Understanding that some women still feel hesitant to receive sanitary napkins in public, female volunteers also carried out door-to-door distribution to ensure comfort and dignity.

Alongside medical services, a separate team engaged children through drawing activities and games, creating a supportive and positive environment.

The initiative was deeply appreciated by the local residents, who expressed a strong desire for such programs to continue in the future.
