Mission to Restore and Provide Respect to Female Inmates
Parvaah is dedicated to women’s health as one of its key focus areas. Behind the walls of a prison, women often fight silent battles—one of the most basic being the struggle to maintain personal hygiene. With this heartfelt realization, Parvaah initiated ‘Shakti Naman’ – an initiative to bring comfort and care into the lives of female inmates, which will continue and grow further in the future.
Our Sanitary Potli Distribution Drive at the Gurgaon District Jail was conducted with the kind support of the authorities, aiming to restore a sense of health, well-being, and harmony among the inmates.
At Gurgaon District Jail, Parvaah reached 135 female inmates and 9 children who are currently living with their mothers.
Each sanitary potli was thoughtfully prepared, containing essentials like sanitary napkins, antifungal powder, toothbrush, toothpaste, Dettol soap, Vim bar, sponge, undergarments, and coconut hair oil—small items that create a significant impact in ensuring health and hygiene.
For the little ones living alongside their mothers, we also distributed diapers, because every child deserves care and comfort.
This initiative reflects Parvaah's commitment to promoting health and gender equality, while also aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
Through these efforts, we aim to reaffirm our belief that dignity, respect, and care are fundamental rights every individual deserves.
